This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
Wow, I've been a member (non-subscribing) for quite a while and haven't posted a single journal entry. I must be incredibly busy....Only kidding...I just want to take time to thank all of the brilliant artists on DA (you know who you are) for inspiring and challenging me in my own artistic exploration. I am learning new things every day as long as I stay inspired and you people are the ones who keep that going. One thing specifically that I've realized is how lazy of an artist I am. Really good work doesn't come quickly. No matter what the medium is. I'm learning to take my time and slowly bring out the finished product. Anyway, thanks again.
Hey there, i got a couple of questions for you, and i thought it might be a good idea to ask you as know one else can really answer my questions.......
So if you wouldnt mind but...
1. Is there any sort of documentation or llegal qualification you need to become a tattoo artist or is it just an onsite sort of training experience you need?
2. How old do you have to be to be able to go for an apprentaceship(if thats even possible)?
and.....
3. Do you know anyone or any tips on how i can start a career in this field...... training etc. any info you got would be awesome man!
Sorry it's taken me so long to reply but it's been awhile since I've been on DA. As far as your questions, here goes: 1. What defines a "legal" tattoo artist changes from state to state. Some states have no laws regulating the tattoo industry. Look into it where you live. 2. As far as I know, apprenticeship depends on several things, age not being one of them. (a) how good of an artist are you? tattooing is alot more than just drawing on people's skin these days. you have to be able to do more than draw. can you design? can you take a concept and turn it into a design. if not, start learning and practicing all you can. (b) how dedicated are you? what are you willing to sacrifice to be a tattoo artist? while I think that apprenticeship can be a good thing, I also know that you could end up a slave in someone's shop indefinately doing anything and everything anyone else doesn't want to. What happens is you get so desparate to do tattoos that you take an apprenticeship from the first shop that says yes without regards to how good of an artist the guy who is going to be teaching you is. Not to mention how clean he is (or isn't) The industry has been flooded with people who have said "screw the apprentice thing" and just started doing tattoos without first learning how dangerous and potentially deadly tattooing is. These people are referred to as "scratchers" by pro artist and not spoken well of to say the least. Tattooing isn't easy at all. Let me just tell you that. It's way harder than it looks. If you are absolutely sure you want to pursue tattooing, start learning all you can about BBP (bloodborne pathogens) Sterilization, Cross-contamination. The diseases that exist in human blood are nasty, and can kill you and the people you tattoo. It's really pretty scary if you think about it. Know that there are some amazing tattooers out here who are self-taught. But a tattoo artist will always be limited to his knowledge of art. I don't know how old you are but start hanging out at the library and learn all you can about drawing, painting, sculpting, photography, and whatever forms of art you can think of. You can't learn too much. If you have any more questions, let me know. I have no secrets.
